These symptoms can be produced by ear wax, sinusitis and eustachian tube dysfunction, middle ear disease, inner ear disorders and rarely more serious disease.
Investigations in the clinic may include a ear canal swab for bacterial or fungal culture. Minor procedures can also be performed in the clinic including removal of a foreign body from the ear canal. Rarely a biopsy may be perfomed in the clinic itself. Also see Minor Ear Sugery
Complementary investigations may include an Audiogram &/or Tympanogram performed at the Audiology Department. Sometimes a CT scan or MRI scan may be required at the Radiology department.
