Testimonial from Vaenthen A/L Kalidas who underwent Septorhinoplasty Surgery
Rhinoplasty is a procedure to correct the shape of the nose. It can be combined with a Septoplasty to straighten a deviated nasal septium if there is nasal blockage.
The upper 1/3 of the nose is a bony structure. Procedures at this level range from:
Manipulation of Nasal Bones- for a recent fracture with deviation.
Rasping of Nasal Bones- for an established mild lateral deviation of the nasal bones.
Osteotomies- for an established moderate to severe lateral deviation of the nasal bones
Hump Reduction- for a hump deformity.
These are often undertaken as a closed procedure without incisions or minimal incisions on the nasal skin.
The lower 2/3 of the nose is made of cartilage, a firm but rubbery structure. The soft (tip) work here can also be undertaken as a closed procedure but is more difficult.
